Poverty Alleviation and Economic Empowerment of Women

Economic empowerment of women as envisaged under the NMEW focuses largely on institutional capacity building for women’s development through strengthening of SHGs and the NGOs/ line departments to provide better services to poor women, while ensuring provision of skill training, technology transfer, technical support and promotion of market linkages.

 

Key focal areas:

• Achievements and challenges in promoting economic empowerment of women and inter-sectoral convergence,

• Best practices initiated by State government/ CSOs/ corporate or PPP models for economic empowerment of women leading to poverty alleviation

• Identification of key areas for achieving inter-sectoral convergence
